Since launch, Cheddar has grown to 100,000+ users and caught the eye of both consumers and industry experts. Awarded Best Newcomer at the British Bank Awards 2024 and celebrated across fintech circles for its UX and brand, Cheddar has proven that financial products can be both powerful and magical. Our work shows that thoughtful design doesn't just solve problems — it inspires trust, loyalty, and excitement in a space where those emotions rarely exist.


Cheddar is a UK fintech app that transforms everyday spending into effortless savings. With instant cashback at 100+ major retailers, seamless peer-to-peer payments, and intuitive spending insights, Cheddar has redefined what a finance app can feel like. More than utility, it delivers a rewarding, design-driven experience that makes people feel in control of their money.

Working closely with the founding team, I shaped Cheddar's brand and product experience from day one — from the visual identity to the core interactions inside the app. The goal was always to create something simple, human, and delightful in a category that often feels dry and functional. Today, Cheddar's design is loved by hundreds of thousands of users and consistently praised for being intuitive, polished, and trustworthy — proof that thoughtful design can inspire loyalty in fintech.

Cheddar was also one of the first companies in the UK to fully embrace Open Banking, becoming authorized and regulated by the FCA at an early stage. Open Banking adoption has surged — with more than 9 million active users in the UK as of 2024 — and Cheddar stands as one of the pioneers who helped make that growth possible. By building trust and pushing boundaries, we didn't just design a product — we helped shape the future of financial access.
